What was at stake

Staff needed their desks, files and printers ready in Burnaby. Also, both Coquitlam offices had to be cleared out. So the job had two sides. Everything they kept had to reach the new office. Meanwhile, everything they didn't keep had to go. In addition, both offices needed a stair carry.

How we ran the office move from Coquitlam to Burnaby

First, we split the job into three move days.

On September 3, we delivered 200 BBX boxes and 40 dollies to the two Coquitlam offices. Each office also got its own colour labels. As a result, staff had at least two weeks to pack.

Next, on September 18, 8 movers and 2 trucks moved the first office to Burnaby. On the same day, we took away furniture they weren't keeping. Some items also went to our warehouse for one week. Then they went out with the next move.

On September 25, 8 movers, 2 installers and 3 trucks moved the second office. Both floors moved that day. However, the second floor had to come down the stairs. We moved 156 BBX boxes, 16 filing cabinets, 2 photocopiers, a plotter and 23 pieces of artwork. After that, our installers mounted the TVs and whiteboards in Burnaby.

Finally, on September 28, 6 movers and 2 trucks went back to both Coquitlam offices. They cleared out everything the client wasn't keeping. That also included taking apart 13 workstation panels.

How it went

The whole move took three days of work. We spread them out on September 18, 25 and 28. On the last day, the final items left Coquitlam. The client went from two offices to one.
