Can you get new office furniture without moving out? How a downtown Vancouver office did it.
This office furniture install in downtown Vancouver happened without the client leaving its floor. We stored everything they kept on the same floor. Then installers built the new furniture from the floor plan. After that, we put every stored item back at its workstation.
The client wasn't moving. However, they needed the old setup cleared out and the new furniture built. So all of it had to happen on one floor of their office tower.
Key facts
Client: an office in downtown Vancouver
Location: one floor of a downtown Vancouver office tower
Dates: planning meeting June 3, 2026. Pack out July 3. Install and move back in early August. Wall art hung September 2
Crew: 4 movers and 1 installer on pack out and move back days, plus installers on install days
Services used: FF&E (fixtures, furniture and equipment) installation, storage on site, BBX boxes and packing supplies, decommissioning
What was at stake
Everything the client kept had to stay on the floor. So every monitor, chair and box needed a spot while the new furniture went in. Also, if things got mixed up, staff would come back to the wrong desk.
How we ran the office furniture install in downtown Vancouver
First, we held a planning meeting on June 3. We brought numbered floor plans and written move instructions. We also left 120 BBX boxes for staff to pack their desks.
Before pack out, staff tagged their things by colour. Yellow meant store it. Teal meant staff would handle it themselves. Anything untagged was for recycling.
Then, on July 3, the crew arrived at 2 pm. By then, staff had cleared their desks. We took the boardroom table apart and wrapped the photocopier. Next, we moved 60 monitors, 32 chairs, 17 desk printers and every BBX box into the boardroom, the file room and onto the balcony. The balcony items went under tarps.

In early August, installers built the new furniture from the floor plan. They set up pedestals, lateral files and hutches at each workstation. They also fitted acrylic desk dividers and built the reception panel system.

On August 7, we brought everything out of storage. Each item went back to its workstation. Plants also went back to the spots they came from.
How it went
Two weeks later, on August 21, we came back to fix a few drawers, modesty panels and a sit stand desk. Finally, on September 2, we hung 50 pieces of wall art and took away the last disposal items.

Yes, if there's room to store things on the same floor. For example, for a downtown Vancouver office, we stored everything in the boardroom, the file room and on the balcony while the new furniture went in.

We help you sell it, store it or get rid of it. On this job, staff tagged what to keep. Then we cleared out everything untagged.
